Breast milk can be safely stored at room temperature for 6-8 hours. In the refrigerator for up to 48 days. Frozen breast milk can be safely stored for up to 6 months.
Usage:
Remove the protective strip and carefully open the bag. Pour the milk into a sterile bag, no need to wash before use. Pour the milk to the marked area and mark the date and the amount of milk in the designated place. Place the milk bags upright or lying down in the refrigerator or freezer. It is easier to melt milk in the lying position. Before freezing the milk, remove the air from the bag: place the bag between your index and middle finger (like a pair of scissors) and squeeze the air out of the milk. To be sure, close both fasteners.
Tips: If you plan to freeze the milk, do not pour more than ¾ of the bag, as the chilled milk will expand. Be sure to write the expiration date of the milk. If you have any questions about milk storage, consult your family doctor or midwife.
Thawing frozen breast milk: Breast milk is special, so it must be thawed slowly - within 24 hours in the refrigerator or at room temperature. Do not use boiling water or a microwave oven to defrost! If necessary, frozen breast milk can be thawed under running cold or lukewarm water. Unused milk after thawing can be stored in the refrigerator.
